Naturia Pineapple

Still one of the worst Yu-Gi-Oh investments I've ever made. Seriously, I mean people way overpriced them. They work in maybe two decks, and honestly they're not even true Naturia cards.

Of course I'm saying this because of six samurai. Don't buy it now. Sure the deck is great, but the prices right now make it something not worth pursuing unless you're a competitive player.

Yes though don't buy hype cards. They're too damn expensive.

More on things later. (Six Sam)

Dark Coffin

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Coffin

When this face-down card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, your opponent selects and executes 1 of the following effects:
● Discard 1 random card in their hand.
● Select 1 monster on their side of the field and destroy it.

So I tried teching three Dark Coffins. With increased MST plays and BRD nukes it tends to go off. I mean killing a monster or even plucking the hand after a BRD nuke is pretty op.

My local meta is pretty tame, but I think it's worth trying.

Lack of barriers due to being poor.
Lack of Dark Hole, Mirror, and Torrential due to rampant Starlight Road abuse.
Lack of common sense in card choice due to strong personal preference for the lols.

PS. It can still OTK.

DREV Thoughts and hate!

Thoughts:
Lots of good generic support (Effect Veiler; Solemn Warning; Chivalry; Pot of Greederosity, ect)
Level Seven synchro with generic requirement and high attack: Awesome.
Scrap is fun.
Watt support is nice.
Synchro fusions are cool.
Most TCG exclusives are either good in theme or can be splashed to some success.

Hate:
Rarity bumping makes set a pain in the ass to invest in.
OCG imports annoy me now. They're being used on errant Duel Terminal support, and the good one are secrets.
Time Mach... I mean Miracles Wake:Rarity makes it bull as I already own about ten common versions of it.
Naturia made into chase rares: Pineapple as secret makes it hard to get and therefore raises not just it's own but Bambooshoot's price.
Psychic Nightmare as secret, hate that, good support made hard to get.

Overall it's a good set, it's just not collector friendly.

I myself expect to see large play of cards including:
Effect Veiler (Side deck and you too can feel the awe control)
Delta Flyer (Now dragons can haz synchro too.)
Naturia Bamboo Shoot (Kills spells and traps, and Pineapple makes a joke of the requirement)
Voltic Bicorn (Abuse of mill is fairly decent.)
Landoise's Luminous Moss (Stops all those pesky effects, like honest and kalut)
Pot of Duality (Duh)
Miracle Synchro Fusion (Makes Psychic better, also free beatsticks are mad swanky)
Paradox Fusion (Might see play in AZ)
Solemn Warning (Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Bottomless Trap Hole)
Chivalry (Stops pesky cards such as Honest, Kalut, Shura, Firedog, ect)
Naturia Pineapple (Plant Treeborn Frog, works with Lonefire Blossom(Terrible show BTW)and makes Bambooshoot banging)
Dark Desertapir (Natural Beast, also effect can do things)
Fabled Raven (Fun, fun, fun)
Ally of Justice Cyclone Creator (Effect can do things, I'm seeing it somewhere)
Stygian Street Patrol (Winfernities new friend, also just pretty dang good)

Well that's all for now, until next time Ace out~

Thoughts so far on YCS wherever it is....

1. Why fathers days? What the heck konami? Respect the DAD, you made him.

2. Still not a fan of your coverage. It just feel so dry.

3. Someone really like Jeff Jones. He's running Gyakutenno Megami. Fun fact: Rumor has it he's running the Anniversary Pack version. *Note: All rumors and fun are unsubstantiated in any way, shape, or form. They may also not be fun at all*

4. Mind Control deck is a cool concept. Props to that guy.

5. Full monster should never have been given that horrendous "Monster Surge" name. Also the Cold Wave and Giant Trunade are an atrocity unto nature.

6.Herald of Perfection has some sort of bias toward it. May be in part due to JJ love.(See the two deck profiles)

7. Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth really needs to be played with Big Wave Small Wave and POC spam. Also maybe a teched norleras.

8.Nothing else I really care to talk about except that they need to get up deck list for deck profiles faster after the event.

Answers to QQ(Which I hate):
What Will Win This Weekend? - X-Saber, It's the Bruce Lee of Yugioh.
What’s Your Secret Tech? - $1000 for bribes.
What’s Hot in Gold Series 3? - Gold Prisma, and common Freya, I love Freya.
How will you beat X-Sabers? - See answer to question two.
What’s your favorite KM? - Urknight, it lets you pull out the rest of them.
Are you Main Decking D.D. Crow? - In Silk and Milk yes.

Cats and Burdens

Today's cards up for discussion:

Summoner Monk
Card Guard
King Tiger Wanghu
Burden of the Mighty

So as most seasoned players, and many new ones know, King Tiger-Burden was a popular lock back in the day. Well in testing I've found ti to have new use in today's meta game. King tiger kill anything with 1400 or less when it's summoned. Burden makes all monsters lose 100 for each star.

This is all leading to a deck eventually so first I'll explain the synergy these four cards provide each other. Summoner Monk, at the cost of a spell from hand,is able to summon either Card Guard or King Tiger. Summoning Tiger gives you a 1600 defender and a 1700 attacker who wrecks the three gadgets, Rescue Cat, all low level Infernity kids, and so much more on his own. Throw a Burden behind him and he starts killer all 4 star 1800's. Throw two and all he kills most everything else. How you may ask though is it a good idea to put these continuous spells in a deck? Well Summoner Monk can also pull out Card Guard who when normal or special summoned gets a Guard Counter. The counter gives him 300 atk, and can be moved to another card. Cards with guard counters get the cool effect of not being killed once and having their counter removed instead. So lets look at that, tiger kills with Burden out, Guard keeps Burden alive, monk pulls out whoever you don't have in hand. This can only be good.

Watt

Giraffe and Woodpecker are pretty OP. In testing when backed with cube for offense and Honest for defense they tend to not die and win games.

Wattcube's primary effect of 100 for each thunder doesn't amount to much unless you put it on something big to begin with, or mill a lot. I'm running with Thunder nyan nyan's as filler right now, so it works on her. The send to the grave gain a thousand effect is boss. So boss. I originally though it was 100 until the end, but it's permanent for the time the monster is face up on the field.

Also to note is trust guardian. Makes Wyvern plays quick and easy. Also Stardust become a bit hardier.

Miracle Fusion Vs. The Fusions....

So I've been thinking about this for awhile now. Mostly because of the whole Stardust V. Starlight Road debate. You know what gets hit first, balanced counter to mass removal, or the card that makes it broken.

So this got me thinking Miracle Fusion. It turns dead resources into awesome things, Raigeki, Removed Monster Recovery, A Field Wide Shrink, A Riryoku with a body. So I wonder what would the debate lean more towards?

Hit the easiest way to bring them out, or hit the creatures themselves. Consider too that monsters are arguably easier to fetch back than spells. POA, Transmigration, Pot of Benevolence to name a few. So even limiting each to one they can still be spammed very easily; moreover, spells are limited to few recovery cards such as Magical Stone Excavation, and Spell Reproduction.

Personally I'd be more in favor of hitting Miracle Fusion, as that also makes Parallel World Fusion worse, and allows heroes to keep hold of their few strong monsters. Although ease of getting them out goes way down.

I guess...
Miracle to two
AZ to one
Would solve most problems.

In conclusion, where do you stand? Also remember this has no precedent as hero is still 100 years too young to touch the meta in any criminal way. Until next time Ace-Out!

Junk Archer...

Whoo hoo I finally got my playset.

Now I realize three is probably more than I'll ever need.

Also I think he needs to see more play.

Essentially he comes out for free using Quickdraw and Quillbolt.

Junk and a level 4 makes him too. Stratos into Neo Alius, Ultimate Offering Junk out, synchro, Remove, swing for 2300.

Really though the ability to swing for 2300 damage can end games. Although the monster coming back may prove to be a problem.

Something soon.

Legendary Jujitsu Master

Is amazing this format.

Main board one as tech and you too can see the amazing.

He might not plus you, but he will minus your opponent.

Earthbound Immortals

They have lots of nice support.

With in theme negation, heavy, revival, monster destruction, and a +3 search card they seem like they'd be good.

Big problem is crappy field spells. They need an in theme field spell, Linewalker just isn't enough of a boon to the type.

Plus there are give or take three immortals worth playing.

I can almost picture a LADD hybrid.

In conclusion Immortal *something* deck soon.

Starlight Road

Seems lackluster...

Stops Heavy and Mirror for sure, everything else depends on the opponents deck.

Sure you can trigger your own but meh.

Separate effects are nice. So lack of or desire for Stardust doesn't stop you.

Royal Oppression stops it so that's cool. Macro too for the one of you that didn't know.

As usual Stratos and R - Righteous Justice both get to work around it when played smartly.

Well I'll be doing more testing, so far I'm not convinced it's format breaking.

Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate x3
Koa'ki Meiru Urnight x3
Koa'ki Meiru Crusader x3
Koa'ki Meiru Guardian x3
Koa'ki Meiru Ice x2

Brain Control x1
Card Destruction x1

Bottomless Trap Hole x2
Reckoned Power x2
Core Reinforcement x2
Torrential Tribute x1
Solemn Judgment x1
Call of The Haunted x1
Mirror Force x1

Lets run it through...

Koa'ki Meiru Urnight and Koa'ki Meiru Crusader allow constant swarm and regaining of advantage. They save each other from destruction and Urknight has the biggest 4 star body of the whole archetype.

Koa'ki Meiru Guardian is a cheaper more usable doom caliber knight.

Koa'ki Meiru Drago stops light and dark special summons. Worked well last Meta, this Meta it's fifty fifty, is still good game two leave in, if not side for double Cyber

Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate is a 2500 that keeps himself and others alive. He can even prevent the end phase destruction effect. Technical boss of the deck.

Koa'ki Meiru Ice is what makes the first spell choice work. By discarding a card you can destroy one special summoned monster. To keep him alive you can pitch a core or reveal a continuous spell, which until now the deck had never run. Which leads to the spells...

Core Transport Unit. Pitch a card grab a core, leads into quicker combos with Core Compression, Urknight, Reckoned Power, and just lets the deck overcome it's one big problem lack of cores. "So" you may say, "What about when they turn into three dead draws?" Well remember Ice? Ice can pitch them to kill a monster, or use them to stay alive. Of course Morphing Jar, and Card Destruction also fix them as dead draws.

Core Compression
is the draw card of the deck, usually not run due to slowness of the core. Transport Unit fixed that. Also dropped monster creates a Crusader target in the grave. A 2-4-2 that quickly turns into plus ones.

Reckoned Power. Viable dues to Cores popping out left and right, reveal nuke your opponents backrow. Set, bait MST, nuke. Genius.

Core Reinforcement. Two more Call of the Haunted, life point cost can kill you if you Solemn early so hold that off or use these first.

Well that's about it, Ace out.

Hello Again!

Well my last blog was ruined with a bad app. Crazy link every time you open it.

Well I'm back.

This time around I'm playing it smart and actually calling this a Yu-Gi-Oh blog, sure I'll occasionally have non card related subjects, but for the most part I'm keeping it cool.

I'll be posting actual post soon.
